The central gem in this majestic trio is a large 7 carat Aquamarine pear facet. At the base of the pendant is a Rainbow Moonstone and below the fixed bail is a precious Rubellite Tourmaline cabochon. As you can see, the quality of the gems is remarkable and normally something that would only be set in gold. (Chain sold separately)
Moonstone is a name which encompasses both true moonstone, a potassium feldspar, and Rainbow Moonstone which is actually a variety of labradorite. The name Moonstone is born from its visual effect, called schiller or adularescence. Moonstone embodies the mystical inner-world of the night and light of the moon.
Aquamarine, “water of the sea”, is a transparent blue to bluish-green variety of Beryl, and the sibling of Emerald and Morganite. Aquamarine is a stone of courage. Aquamarine encourages one to keep calm, decisive, and strong under pressure. The most valuable gems have a deep-blue aqua color and eye-clean clarity.
Pink Tourmaline colors have a wide range, from light to darker pink, purplish-pink to peachy-pink color tones. Rubellite is a special variety of Pink Tourmaline that has a deep saturated pinkish-red to violet-red color. Nearly all Pink Tourmaline’s belong to the Elbaite species, the most dynamic species of Tourmaline.
