A deep sky-blue Aquamarine oval facet is combined with a rich green Moldavite pear facet in this custom 14 kt Gold gemstone pendant. The Aquamarine is unusually blue and lustrous, displayed to stunning effect in the full bezel setting. The genuine Moldavite facet has small bubbles and natural inclusions of Lachterilite, a pure form of SiO2 that formed during the meteorite impact which created Moldavite, when quartz grains underwent an intense transformative heating process.
Aquamarine, “water of the sea”, is a transparent blue to bluish-green variety of Beryl, and the sibling of Emerald and Morganite. Aquamarine is a stone of courage. Aquamarine encourages one to keep calm, decisive, and strong under pressure. The most valuable gems have a deep-blue aqua color and eye-clean clarity.
Moldavite was formed during a celestial event some 15 million years ago. A huge astroid estimated to be around 1 km in diameter struck southern Germany and formed what is today known as Ries Crater. Moldavite is known as the stone of transformation, a catalyst to inspire positive change and elevate one’s consciousness.
