ELESTIAL QUARTZ

Elestial Quartz Origin & Physical Properties

Elestial Quartz crystals, also called Skeletal Quartz or Crocodile Quartz, are a classification of crystals exhibiting anomalous skeletal growth patterns caused by unstable conditions during their formation. The surface of the crystals have unusual geometric patterns, that formed layer upon layer over millions of years. Elestial Quartz crystals are generally smoky or clear quartz and very rarely Amethyst or Citrine varieties. These crystals often contain pockets of clay or enhydro inclusions. In Elestial Quartz, the sides of the crystal grown faster than the faces, explaining how their intricate patterns have come into being.

Elestial Quartz crystals have been found in many localities but they most often come from Brazil, Namibia, Pakistan and the European Alp localities. Fine specimens of Skeletal Quartz are exceedingly more rare than standard varieties of Quartz crystals and this is reflected in their value. Undamaged quality specimens are several times more expensive than other varieties of Quartz crystals.
