Moldavite of this caliber is becoming rapidly hard to find as this ancient green tektite is a finite substance. Arriving 15 million years ago in southern Bohemia, Czech, this lovely specimen was part of a large meteoritic event that dramatically impacted with our earth. It is the only gem grade tektite available today. Moldavite is known as a holder of cosmic energy, a catalyst for energetic change and sudden evolution. It is not known as a subtle stone, but one of great healing power.
Moldavite was formed during a celestial event some 15 million years ago. A huge astroid estimated to be around 1 km in diameter struck southern Germany and formed what is today known as Ries Crater. Moldavite is known as the stone of transformation, a catalyst to inspire positive change and elevate one’s consciousness.
