This extraordinary Museum Grade Moldavite stone is deeply etched with intricate markings and jagged spiky edges. A truly incredible Czech Moldavite specimen, this is one for the discerning collector! This Museum Grade stone is from the treasured Besednice locality in southern Bohemia. Stones from this location are known for their unique texture, sometimes referred to as hedgehogs because of their unique texture. Arriving 15 million years ago in southern Bohemia, Czech, this lovely specimen was part of a large meteoritic event that dramatically impacted with our earth. It is the only gem grade tektite available today. Moldavite is known as a holder of cosmic energy, a catalyst for energetic change and sudden evolution. Moldavite was formed during a celestial event some 15 million years ago. A huge astroid estimated to be around 1 km in diameter struck southern Germany and formed what is today known as Ries Crater.
